Grand Opening of “Water/Ways” and “Sulphur Springs: An Enduring Legacy” Feb 4 @ 11:30am

The USF Heritage Research Lab is proud to support the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibit – Water/Ways and the grand opening of the Sulphur Springs Museum and Heritage Center’s new building and exhibit on local history. The Heritage Lab has a long history of research and work in this community beginning with Dr. Antoinette Jackson’s Issues in Heritage Tourism class of 2006 and continuing to the most recent classes of 2015 and 2016. The class of 2015 includes Vivian Gornik and Melissa Sedlacik and the class of 2016 includes Preston LaFarge. All are USF graduate students in the Department of Anthropology who have been instrumental in preparing for the grand opening and leading the way for the kick-off of the new exhibit. Big thanks to the community of Sulphur Springs and Norma and Joseph Robinson for inspiring such good work and for fighting to make this dream come true. The partnership between USF and the Sulphur Springs Museum and Heritage Center continues and we look forward to many more projects.
