Photo by Margaret Allsopp.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>During our 3rd sharing session at the Sulphur Springs Museum and Heritage Center (SSMHC), the youth shared their feelings, emotions, and thoughts about their dialogue with elders. \u00a0We wrote their ideas on chart paper.<\/p>\n<p>When asked why she chose to participate in this project, \u00a0Nakesha Buie, one of the youth participants shared:<\/p>\n<p><em>So that this generation won\u2019t be lost.\u00a0 So that someone will be able to hold it together because everybody is not making the right decisions.\u00a0 So that some people can grab a hold of some kind of hope, some kind of understanding.\u00a0 If it\u2019s not me, then who else? \u00a0Somebody has to leave a good legacy of the community for the youth because a lot of our youth are not following the right path.\u00a0 Who&#8217;s going to leave a good legacy? Who\u2019s going to leave a good report about what\u2019s going on? \u00a0Growing up in Sulphur Springs, when I first moved here, a lot of people would say \u2018Oh, nothing good ever comes out of Sulphur Springs.\u2019\u00a0 I used to always hear that.\u00a0 And I\u2019m like I\u2019m not really good at school, I\u2019m not really good at much.
