The law instructed the U.S. Secretary of the Interior to establish a commission that would oversee funding and\u00a0develop a management plan for the Gullah\/ Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. The\u00a0Gullah\/Geechee culture, named one of the 11 Most Endangered Sites in America by the National Trust of Historic Preservation, consists of a network of communities that stretch along the coastline from northern Florida through Georgia and South Carolina, and into Wilmington, North Carolina.
